A Night Of Limitless Possibilities With Coco Jones
"I can't believe I finally have my first-ever album out...This tour is about asking yourself the hard questions to really figure out who you are. I feel like when you know your voice, nobody can tell you what you need to be saying or who you need to be because you know yourself. And that was the goal with this album. I wanted to figure myself out, and it led to me really expressing a lot of emotion. And I want to be free to do that here on this stage with y'all. Can I do that?" - Coco Jones, 5/13
Disney Channel star turned radiant R&B breakout artist Coco Jones has been releasing music for over a decade. Jones stopped by Boston's Roadrunner on May 13 as part of the Why Not More? Tour, promoting her debut solo album that dares listeners to pursue their passions and live authentically.

The night began with Lady London, a hypnotizing hip-hop artist who immediately charmed the crowd. Before performing the song "Intro," she asked everyone to shout which zodiac sign is the best on the count of three. The track from her debut solo album, S.O.U.L., explores different traits associated with each sign. She cleverly created a memorable connection between fans and her music by engaging the audience and their opinions. Towards the end of her set, she revealed she is a little "toxic" before delivering some deliciously petty spoken word poetry about wishing karma on an ex.

In classic pop star fashion, crew members brought out stage fans to add movement and energy to the show. A large circular video screen in front of a flowy white fabric backdrop transported the venue to a music video set. Soon after, the lights finally dimmed again, and Jones and her dancers strutted on stage to thunderous applause. She jumpstarted the show with the groovy song "Taste," captivating the crowd with her smooth voice and effortless vocal runs. Jones demonstrated her incredible range throughout the night, incorporating elements of SZA's "Love Galore" while performing an unreleased track. The singer balanced her shiny pop persona with personable crowd interactions, revealing how important it is for her to "take in the moments because they're so special to me."
Her powerful stage presence held the energy high throughout the rest of the set, with fans especially glued to the sensual performance of "AEOMG" that involved chair choreography. Jones and her backup dancers, LaToya Siplin and Gabrielle Slaughter, wore rich royal blue outfits, with Jones in a bejeweled corset and pants that allowed her to execute dynamic dance moves. The show featured many costume changes, including a sheer long-sleeved blouse during more intimate songs where she sat on a stool in the center of the stage and a longer flowing train to add drama to emotional ballads like "ICU." The singer crafted a concert that showcased her stunning collection of vulnerable and empowering anthems. Make sure to catch Coco Jones live before the Why Not More? Tour ends in September.
