Glasser Coffee: A Pearl in the City

Glasser Coffee: A Pearl in the City

More and more cafés are popping up in Brighton, and one I especially like is the Glasser Coffee Company. Located a hop, skip and a jump from Oak Sq., this cozy mom and pop is located on Washington St. With a couple of booths and a counter that overlooks the street, it’s the perfect nook for a quiet coffee or a casual catch-up.

They serve some modern espresso drinks, such as a lavender latte or their bee stinger, a brown sugar, honey syrup latte with a double shot of espresso topped with cinnamon and nutmeg. I recommend these for adventurous types. I’ll continue to enjoy the more traditional styles furnished by their roaster, Peaks Coffee Company from Syracuse.

They open bright and early serving their version of the classic egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, variations for vegans and meat lovers. A small selection of French pastries rounds out the menu—the time-honored croissant, indulgent pain au chocolat and an almond croissant generously filled with frangipane. Whether you are local or just passing through, Glasser Coffee Company is well worth a visit. It’s a lovely spot for breakfast and a truly satisfying cup of coffee.
