It was a hot, humid Wednesday night at BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, New Hampshire, as fans slowly made their way into the venue for Counting Crows’ The Complete Sweets! Tour. The crowd was still sparse when openers The Gaslight Anthem took the stage, but people trickled in steadily, constantly wiping sweat from their brows. By the time Counting Crows were set to begin around 8:45, the sun had set, the air had cooled slightly and the pavilion was full. Though the band didn’t take the stage until nearly thirty minutes later, the delay only built anticipation. The crowd was loud and ready, cheering as the lights shifted to colors of yellow, blue and purple.

Counting Crows kicked off their set with Spaceman in Tulsa and mixed in some of their biggest hits like Mr. Jones and Hanginaround. Adam Duritz’s vocals were on point, especially during the slower, more emotional songs. They also threw in a couple of surprise covers that kept things fresh. Overall, the band delivered a solid, nostalgic performance.

The Gaslight Anthem opened the night with their signature blend of gritty rock and heartfelt lyrics. Their energetic performance set the tone for the evening, earning steady applause even as the pavilion slowly filled.
