Hip-hop royalty Doechii brought the Live From The Swamp Tour to Boston on October 19th, 2025. After first performing in the city back in 2023 while opening for Doja Cat, she made her highly anticipated return for a sold-out headline show at MGM Music Hall. Boston marked her third stop on the tour, leaving fans buzzing about what the night had in store. Guests flooded into the venue and immediately lined up for merchandise, including Doechii's Nike collaboration, collegiate styles for "Doechii's School of Hip Hop," and other designs, like a cartoon of Doechii riding an alligator. Many opted to pick up an alligator light stick to wave in the crowd.

A giant boombox adorned with slides on either side scaled the stage, setting the tone for the grand performance ahead. Fans jammed out to the preshow playlist, which highlighted other powerhouses like Alemeda and Ravyn Lenae. Finally, the lights dimmed and Boston released thunderous cheers. Doechii emerged silhouetted from the CD slot and appeared atop a motorized school desk that landed in the center of the stage. She split the show into 'lessons,' schooling the audience and sharing her wisdom about witty topics.
The singer sported a crisp pinstripe ensemble, a blown-out bob, and dramatic pearl accessories, aka the perfect attire for this edgy teacher. School was in session as she dove into the electric first track "STANKA POOH," demonstrating her charged vocals and addictive rhythmic rap style. During tracks like "BULLFROG," the desk weaved around the stage as Doechii executed death-defying backbends and poses. She mixed these solo performances in the spotlight with intensive group dances. Doechii and her dancers struck poses atop the boombox and flawlessly executed dynamic choreography with sharp arm movements while "AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM" by Beyoncé played.
This tour is fresh off the heels of her 2025 GRAMMY award win for Best Rap Album and thrilling festival performances. The raw and unfiltered energy that cemented her as one to watch was on full display while she reigned over Boston. She boasted impeccable breath control during tracks like “Spookie Coochie,” firing off high-speed bars without being phased, a testament to her stamina. Between these vocal feats, she executed signature moves from ballroom culture, such as death drops, keeping everyone's eyes glued to the stage.

Her connection with her fans became a big part of the show in the "sex education" lesson. Some lucky audience members had the opportunity to sit on stage while Doechii crawled across their desks during "Crazy." She flirted through dance with everyone, creating a once-in-a-lifetime memory as they sat mouths agape and smiles wide, in awe. She weaved performances that sounded exactly like the studio recordings, and moments where she created something unique to the live show, like a grungy rock version of "Anxiety," one of the viral hits that catapulted her into the mainstream spotlight.

The theatrics continued throughout "DENIAL IS A RIVER," where she attempted to conquer the slide but got stuck partway down like the previous night, uttering "not again" while releasing a slight chuckle. This humorous moment reminded everyone to take themselves less seriously that night, and live with abandon. She utilized her visuals to contribute to the storytelling, at one point poking fun at the viral Met Gala umbrella scandal by projecting twirling umbrellas onscreen and playing a recording of herself asking someone to fetch more. This cheeky energy and parading of her unapologetic self charmed the crowd.
She returned for a charged three-song encore, chalk full of deep cuts, including "Beverly Hills." A fan gifted her an adorable crocheted albino alligator plushie that she carried around while strutting on stage before closing with the energetic track "Pacer," squeezing every drop of energy out of the venue with her enthralling annunciation and articulation of each word and its syllables. Doechii's performance solidified that she is a bona fide triple threat with the vocal chops, theatrics, and dance moves to back it up. Her setlist spanned all the hits and viral collaborations with artists like Tyler, The Creator and JENNIE that fans were craving to hear live.
