Breakout star and pop provocateur Slayyyter stormed through Boston for two sold-out shows at Roadrunner on September 26th and 29th as part of the Wor$t Girl in the World Tour. The evening of the 26th called for a nor'easter, but that didn't stop Boston from showing up in their best trashy Americana chic attire. Fans in ripped shirts, trucker hats, corsets, and high-top sneakers featuring Slayyyter's red dollar sign logo stomped around the venue and found their spots on the floor. Some revealed they spent hours creating their outfits and custom nail artwork. Many stopped by the merch table, awestruck by the attention to detail and cheeky designs. Slayyyter brought a giant wooden wall with the available merch hung in frames and a mounted deer head wearing the two hats she had for sale. Designs included tattoo-art-style drawings of her and shirts with WGIA (Wor$t Girl in America)- branded cigarette boxes.

The singer brought that stellar creative direction to the stage, which utilized props like a trailer wall with windows, plastic lawn chairs, cattail bushes, clothing lines, and street lights to transport the city to her grungy Midwestcore world based on her hometown in Missouri. Soon after, the lights dimmed, and fans released thunderous cheers. Slayyyter appeared silhouetted in the doorway on stage and strutted to the mic. She wore a pink corduroy hat with a silver tiara, a snakeskin jacket, a white corset, and a mini skirt the size of a belt, with a raccoon-tail keychain that swung as she moved. She immediately conquered the stage and dove into the viral track "DANCE...," pumping her fists in the air and whipping her luscious, wavy dirty-blonde locks through the air. Fans screamed and jumped along to the explosive beat, already dancing with abandon. Standout track "CRANK" held the energy high as her gritty vocals and mic distortion transformed the venue into a pulsing club. Slayyyter showcased her vocal prowess, easily belting out mesmerizing falsetto notes during the outro of the first few songs.

The star is known for her well-rounded artist identity: fierce and commanding presence, tongue-in-cheek songwriting, and bold visuals. Her live vocals during octave-defying melodies sounded exactly like the recorded versions as she tore up the stage with her dancing, a testament to her stamina. Standout song "YES GODDD" showcased her edgy, punk side, with feral, full-throated screams opening up mosh pits. She stepped backstage for a quick costume change, leaving her band in the spotlight to shred during a fiery instrumental break.

Slayyyter reemerged in a showgirl-style silver bedazzled corset look with rhinestone fringe. She executed a flawless call-and-response with the audience during "CANNIBALISM!," having them scream "it's on and on and on" as she sang the catchy melody. The call-and-response was a clever way to get another song, worthy of the same viral treatment as other singles, stuck in the audience's heads. The singer brought high glamour to the carnival as she climbed onto a carousel horse that sat on the right side of the stage during "UNKNOWN LOVERZ." A bubble machine quickly filled the venue with whimsy and excitement. The track's pumping bassline held the energy high, and her flirty vocals kept eyes glued to the stage.

Toward the end of the set, she performed a mesmerizing unreleased track titled "I THINK HE'S GOT A GIRL." The song's sparkling synth riffs and steady drums displayed a softer rock side to the star that she hinted will continue through her upcoming project. She ended her main set with a cover of Turnstile's "BIRDS," once again bringing her effortless visceral screams to the forefront as Turnstile themselves performed the same song roughly 100 miles away in Maine that night. She returned for an electric two-song encore including the revered track "brand new chanel$," keeping hands in the air until the final moments of the night.

Slayyyter just announced a companion album, Wor$t Man in America, is coming out on December 4th. Her Boston shows reminded everyone that glitter and glam are the perfect complement to grit and grunge. Her performance and sheer star power made it clear that she is actually the best girl in the world. Make sure to catch Slayyyter live before the Wor$t Girl in the World Tour ends in November.
