Supporting Creative Talent and Celebrating Artistry
Following Boston’s national publication, Following Backstage, provides media creators with a platform to showcase their work, build their personal and professional portfolios, and gain meaningful exposure within creative community.
For more than a decade, the collective has helped launch the careers of emerging artists by providing photographers with hands-on experience, access to live events, and opportunities to collaborate with leading brands and organizations to produce authentic, impactful content.
Producer Michael Kalish introduced the concept in 2015 with an original docuseries spotlighting Boston photographers and their creative journeys. The series featured notable talent, including Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank, and established the foundation for what would become a thriving creative community.
Today, Following Boston has grown into a vibrant media platform with more than 25,000 followers and over 500,000 images shared using #FollowingBoston. Through Following Backstage, the publication continues to connect creators with artists, brands, events, and audiences while giving emerging talent a place to build visibility and a lasting professional portfolio.
