Boston Music Awards Celebrate All Corners of City's Vibrant Creative Scene

The nominees for the 2025 Boston Music Awards (BMAs) have been announced and you can vote here! The list features all-stars, up-and-coming artists, local legends, and beloved team members from venues across the state. The BMAs have celebrated the city’s booming arts community since its founding year of 1987. Following Boston contributors Samantha Davidson and Noah Couitt are nominated for Live Music Photographer of the Year.

2025 is Samantha Davidson’s breakout year. From photographing major festivals like Boston Calling to headline shows featuring artists such as Doechii and Japanese Breakfast, she is most likely at a beloved Boston venue right now. Her use of rich colors and contrast creates striking images that transport viewers back to the moment they were taken and help those who missed out live vicariously through them. She has an extraordinary ability to capture dynamic movements and intimate glances in a single frame.

Following Boston contributor Noah Couitt has had a standout year behind the lens, photographing major festivals such as The Governors Ball and capturing some of the biggest artists of 2025, including Yungblud, Benson Boone, Raye, Clairo, and Hozier. His dynamic visual style blends cinematic storytelling with raw, intimate energy, bringing viewers into the heart of each performance. This year, Noah’s work earned him a nomination for the Boston Music Awards’ Live Music Photographer of the Year, cementing his rising influence in the music photography scene.

You may recognize some other familiar faces on the ballot from Following Boston's coverage of Boston Calling. Bebe Stockwell, one of our featured artists, is nominated for Artist of the Year, Album/EP of the Year (1 million+ streams), Song of the Year (1million+ streams), Singer/Songwriter of the Year, and Vocalist of the Year.

Boston Calling proved to be the premiere showcase for local artists making a splash with other Orange Stage performers featured in our coverage receiving nominations: PINKLIDS, Megan From Work, copilot, and Layzi.
