Modest Mouse Light Up Boston with a Cosmic, Career-Spanning Set MGM Music Hall at Fenway – Wednesday, October 15, 2025

On a crisp fall Wednesday night in Boston, Modest Mouse proved that indie rock longevity doesn’t mean slowing down—it means going deeper. Playing to a nearly sold-out crowd at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway, Isaac Brock and company delivered a dynamic, full-bodied performance that fused raw emotion, tight musicianship, and that trademark Modest Mouse weirdness that’s kept fans loyal for decades.

The show was part of the band’s Fall 2025 Tour, and from the moment they hit the stage with “3rd Planet,” the audience was all in. The general admission floor became a sea of movement—dancing, shouting lyrics, and bouncing to every off-kilter rhythm—while fans in the upper levels stood, swayed, and sang along.

The night’s setlist was a treat for longtime fans, as the band performed their acclaimed The Moon & Antarctica album nearly in full. Songs like “Gravity Rides Everything” and “Dark Center of the Universe” shimmered with eerie precision, while “Perfect Disguise” and “The Cold Part” showcased the band’s ability to balance beauty and unease in equal measure.

Brock’s distinctive yelp and angular guitar work were in top form, but it was the tightness of the full band that elevated the performance. “Tiny Cities Made of Ashes” and “A Different City” pulsed with frenetic energy, while “Paper Thin Walls” and “I Came as a Rat” drew some of the loudest singalongs of the night. Even quieter moments, like “Lives” and “Life Like Weeds,” carried a cinematic weight that filled the room.

After closing the main set with “What People Are Made Of,” the band returned for a powerful five-song encore that spanned eras—reminding the audience just how deep their catalog runs. “Parting of the Sensory” and “Cowboy Dan”built into massive, swirling jams before giving way to “Fire It Up,” “Dogbed/Sheetrock,” and a triumphant “Interstate 8” to close the night.

Nearly two hours after the first notes rang out, Modest Mouse left the Boston crowd buzzing—ears ringing, feet sore, and smiles wide. The band’s chemistry was undeniable, their sound sharper than ever, and their connection to the fans as electric as it’s ever been.

Don’t miss them when the tour rolls through your city—Modest Mouse are still one of the most thrilling live acts in rock.
