The Happy Fits at House of Blues

The Happy Fits at House of Blues

The Happy Fits guitarist Nico Rose celebrated her birthday on Saturday night, as the group finished up their Lovesick Tour right here in Boston. The tour is promoting their new studio album of the same name, released in September. The New Jersey-based four-piece brought their upbeat, energetic, cello-driven brand of indie rock to a contingent of fans who were more than ready to party.

The show began with technical difficulties: The Happy Fits made it about halfway through the first song before the sound cut out. They then left the stage for about 5 minutes before coming back to restart their set, and then proceeded without any further issues. The set consisted primarily of songs from Lovesick, but also featured a few cuts from throughout their career, as well as a rousing cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way."

Near the end of the set, the group's guitarist Nico Rose was surprised with balloons and a small cake to celebrate her birthday, as the crowd serenaded her with a version of "Happy Birthday to You"
