ZZ Top Keeps the Blues-Rock Spirit Alive in Gilford

ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and Elwood Francis kept the rock ’n’ roll spirit alive during The Big One Tour’s stop at the BankNH Pavilion in Gilford. The show carried forward the unmistakable sound and style created by Gibbons alongside late bandmates Dusty Hill and Frank Beard over more than five decades.

The set leaned into ZZ Top’s classic years, pairing blues-rock favorites like “Waitin’ for the Bus” and “Cheap Sunglasses” with signature hits “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs,” before closing with “La Grange.”

The Kelli Baker Band and George Thorogood & The Destroyers opened the night, with Thorogood closing his set with the classic hit “Bad to the Bone.”
