MK - Your first memory of laughing…

JG - Not sure if it was the first time, but as a kid I loved Looney Toons. I remember laughing very hard to Daffy Duck tripping down a hill. I was losing my mind crying laughing. To this day when I see it I laugh. And I recently rewatched the classic episodes with my kids and it holds up. Love me some Looney Toons.

MK - Your first memory of making someone laugh…

JG - When I was 10 years old, my family went to “Bella Vita” for Easter,  the big Italian restaurant on Staten Island. It was packed, wall to wall with Italians celebrating. My sister and I were walking to the back to use the restrooms and I misjudged a step, tripped and face planted. The restaurant came to a screeching halt from the sound of my body smacking against the linoleum.  My not so nice teenage sister pointed and laughed at her beet red younger brother. I popped up and yelled “Tadaaaa” and presented the most enthusiastic Jazz hands that place had ever seen. The restaurant erupted into laughter. And that was the last time I think I was ever embarrassed.

MK - How does it feel to perform in legendary venues such as The Wilbur in Boston, Massachusetts, and what can the audience expect in your upcoming performance on September 15th?

JG - I live to make people laugh, so I’m beyond appreciative to be performing on these stages.  And to be able to take the stage at places like the Wilbur on my own is beyond surreal. I just look out from the stage and feel the love from all the people that came to spend time laughing together. As for what to expect, I GUARANTEE 5 to 6 laughs per show during my 60 minute set. That’s a guarantee, so you know you are getting at least that. It’s just been so fun to share stories from my life on TV, my journey as a parent and my love of messing with strangers. Oh, and of course the dogs. Dog rescue is a huge part of my life so you know I have plenty of stories about the Gatto Pups.
