Lil Wayne kicked off his “20+ Years of Carter Classics” tour with a rough start, skipping his first stop in Bangor, ME and leaving fans waiting until 11 pm with no appearance. Two days later, he showed up big in Saratoga Springs, NY, delivering a performance that reminded everyone why he’s still one of the top rappers in the game. The next night, June 3, brought him to Gilford, NH for his scheduled stop at the Bank of NH Pavilion. After the success in New York, fans in New Hampshire were reluctantly hopeful that the missed show was a one‑off. His opener, 2 Chainz, even told the crowd at one point that Tunechi was already in the building.

DJ TLew opened right at Lil Wayne’s scheduled start time of 8:50 pm, warming up the crowd with beats, sing‑along pop tracks, and even a surprise spin of “Love and Marriage” by Frank Sinatra. After about 20 minutes, anticipation was at its peak — but there was still no sign of Lil Wayne. No dimmed lights, no smoke, no announcement. The crowd started to get suspicious.
DJ TLew kept the energy up, pushing out hits and trying to keep everyone engaged, but after 45 minutes the crowd grew restless. People drifted off for drinks, wandered the concourse, and a few boos popped up from different pockets of the pavilion. By around 10 pm, some concertgoers began gathering their belongings and heading for the exits, apparently deciding the rapper wasn’t going to show.

A few minutes after 10 pm, boos echoed across the venue and some fans flipped off the stage. DJ TLew kept glancing at his phone and talking to someone offstage, clearly waiting for an update. Around 10:10, he finally announced that Lil Wayne’s plane had just landed and reminded everyone that the airport was “across the f*cking street.” Moments later, a message appeared on the screens: “Lil Wayne will take the stage at 10:30 PM.” The crowd got a renewed sense of hope.
By 10:35 pm, though, more boos broke out and some fans were starting to lose faith. At 10:50 pm, the lights finally dimmed and Lil Wayne walked onto the stage, triggering a wave of cheers. The walkway in front of the soundboard turned into a sea of people who had abandoned their seats and were already dancing. Lil Wayne didn’t acknowledge the late start, he just told the crowd they looked amazing and jumped straight into the show.

The show ended up running shorter than planned due to the venue’s 11 pm sound curfew, but Lil Wayne stayed onstage until around midnight. He smoked blunts throughout the set. At one point he told the audience, “We all ain’t sht without each other, and I ain’t sht without you." Those who stayed were rewarded with an amazing set by one of the greatest rappers of our time. His next stop is in Iowa on July 16, with the tour continuing through the Midwest, California, and several more states all the way into October.
2 Chainz opened the night with a great set.
